It’s the month of May and in just a few weeks we will be launching our first ever crowdfunding campaign for Dermitrax.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?
This is a new effort, slowly built up over the past few weeks with a goal helping to get our story and effort out while also cultivating interest from patients, advocates, and care providers a like. Our goal is three-fold, How might we transform the hearts, minds, and wallets of the community?

BUT, ISN’T CROWDFUNDING SIMPLY TO RAISE MONEY FOR A PROJECT?

Sure, and that is a part of our goal, but our belief is that we can use this as a channel to gain interest and following from the psoriatic and autoimmune community, patient and provider communities, and the families and support structures interested in our work. Fundamentally this comes down to three key things:

  • Hearts – We want members of the community to not only take an interest in our efforts but take a leap and join this journey along with us and be invested by helping us hear more patient, caregiver, and provider experiences. Help us further our research.
  • Minds – We want to help people see the value that mobile health can have managing their care and on the other side help medical providers and staff see how technology can better support their practices.
  • Wallets – The money invested by those who donate goes 100% to support our research and development efforts. This funding will support key efforts in building the beta prototype and put it in the hands of more patients. The money raised will also help us better understand how store and transmit user data from their device in a secure and health compliant way to a medical record system. Lastly, we will use a portion of the funding to further prototype and validate our doctor dashboard which will be the visualization layer of transferred information.

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE ASKING FOR A LOT…

It’s true we are, and we won’t lie we believe in this cause and see Dermitrax as a starting point for developing other mobile healthcare products that address other chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes. Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” This journey we are on is a long one and not a simple one. Your help, support, and drive can impact us in many valuable ways, but the choices is yours.

IF I WERE TO SUPPORT WHAT DO I GET OUT OF IT?

That’s a most excellent question! First of all, our undying gratitude for joining us in this effort, but more importantly we want to memorialize those who support our effort by creating a running list of those who donate $75.00 and more into the software itself. This is a bit like an easter egg; however the difference being that as we scale up Dermitrax as a platform your names, embedded in the coded, will also be used as a memorial in other solutions as well. In other words you can literally be a part of the code. Of course there are other ways to support as well by helping us test the software and support our usability efforts. Supporters who are interested would get early access to the tool so we can test, validate, and refine the user’s experience. Along with all of this we want to build a visible memorial on our website (for those who want to be listed) with the names of all of our supports and those helping us to build a better digital experience.

Can we count on your support?

– Cheers
